Overview

Knowledge4You was formed in 1999 to provide consulting services for web-based application development and data warehousing projects.

Early engagements included:

	an executive reporting system for an on-line magazine;
	How can I induce visitors to complete transactions and increase conversion?
	several large data warehouse projects in the public sector;
	a work-collaboration and reporting system.

Our first clients included the Government of Ontario, Toronto District School Board, the Canadian Standards Association, and Spectrum Investments. As the company continued to grow, we were able to attract other well-known companies such us CIBC, Hewlett-Packard, University of Toronto and Intria Items. They looked to us to transform data into knowledge.

With our wealth of experience in large and complex data warehousing projects, we have brought to each of our engagements a data-centric approach. We have always focused on transforming the information our customers will need to facilitate their most important decision making processes, rather than building applications that just automate a specific process and only assist in the decisions surrounding it.

We recognized that we must deliver our solutions cost effectively. Wherever possible, we use industry standard tools. However, when it came to OLAP technology, we quickly discovered that many of the vendors of these technologies had introduced pricing models that were out of line with the budgets our customers had for these products. Considering our data-centric approach, we know the tools we employ to transform data into knowledge are critical to our success.

We took the strategic decision to develop our own OLAP engine, OLAP4you. This decision has meant we can offer our customers very cost effective solutions because we are not relying on any third parties for this key foundation to all of our solutions.

We then added Survey4You, era4You and WebHarvest4You to our OLAP engine. These products are for web-based surveying, enterprise reporting and analysis, and web analytics respectively. Each grew out of meeting a specific customer requirement and wherever possible, we reuse and recycle code components.
